George’s investment management career spans over 30 years with Pendal and its predecessor firms. He is responsible for management of credit, fixed interest and short term income portfolios, including Pendal’s highly regarded Sustainable Australian Fixed Interest Fund, Short Term Income Securities Fund and Credit Impact Trust.
George holds a wealth of experience in portfolio management and credit analysis. He has also worked across numerous fixed income, credit and money market portfolios in portfolio management, credit analysis and dealing roles for 27 years. Prior to this George worked in an accounting role for three years.
In 2019 George was awarded the Alpha Manager status by Money Management’s parent, FE fundinfo, in recognition of his career-long performance in the asset management industry. George was one out of 11 Australia-based investment professionals included in this list of esteemed professionals across multiple asset classes, after being assessed on his ability to create risk-adjusted alpha (outperformance) over his entire track record.
George obtained a Master’s degree in Business (Finance), a Bachelor’s degree in Business (Accounting & Finance) and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment.
Oliver co-manages the Pendal income strategies with Amy Xie Patrick. He has extensive experience in macro, quant and credit research. Primarily, his role is to enhance the Income & Fixed Interest team’s quant process including development of machine learning models and big data capabilities. Prior to joining the team, Oliver spent two years in the Pendal Investment Products team, where he worked closely with both the portfolio management and distribution teams, providing quantitative support, portfolio positioning and commentary to the business and clients. Oliver received his Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) from the University of Sydney and is also a CFA Charterholder.
With a background in cash and dealing, Steve brings over 20 years’ financial markets experience to our Institutional Managed Cash portfolio. During his time at Pendal Group, Steve has managed numerous New Zealand cash portfolios and has been active in portfolio positioning while executing domestic and international credit and bond funds. Steve previously worked at Tullett and Tokyo as a corporate bond broker, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the Australian National University.
Tim joined Pendal Group in February 2017 with responsibility for managing Australian Bond portfolios. Tim has extensive experience in banking, financial markets and funding.
Tim joined Pendal Group from NSW Treasury Corporation (TCorp), where he was General Manager, Funding and Balance Sheet, with responsibility for defining and executing TCorp’s funding programme and strategy. Tim’s prior experience includes senior positions in Westpac Treasury, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Deutsche Bank, Bain & Co and Swiss Bank Corporation.
Tim holds a Masters of Economics of Development from the Australian National University and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of New South Wales.
Amy is the Head of Income Strategies at Pendal, leading a suite of active income solutions designed to preserve capital and generate attractive returns for investors. She began her career in 2004 at Citigroup in London and moved into asset management with Thames River Capital in 2007. Since 2017, Amy has been a key member of Pendal’s fixed income team, focusing on delivering strong investment outcomes through active asset allocation and rigorous decision-making. With a career built on navigating complex market cycles, Amy believes in the power of active investing to shape lives and afford financial freedom. She holds a Masters degree in Economics from Emmanuel College, Cambridge.
Murray joined Pendal in June 2020 to provide fundamental credit analysis and integrate ESG across credit funds.
Before joining the team, Murray worked as an independent consultant measuring ESG for family offices and Private Equity firms. Prior to this Murray was a Research Fellow at the Institute for Economics and Peace where he led research for the Institute on the Sustainable Development Goals, violent extremism and engagement with business, which included projects determining the strategic priorities and direction of clients such as UNDP and the OECD. He has also worked as a management consultant and for a welfare organisation.
Murray holds a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and International Relations, a First Class Honours degree and a Bachelor of Law from the University of New South Wales.
Alex is responsible for credit research coverage of Infrastructure, Utilities, and Financials.
Before joining the team, Alex spent seven years as a Primary Analyst at S&P Global Ratings, focusing on infrastructure, utilities, and general corporate issuers in Australia and New Zealand.
Prior to his role at S&P, Alex worked for three years as a Senior Analyst in the Audit Division at Deloitte Australia.
He holds a Master of Philosophy in Economic History from the University of Oxford and a Bachelor of Commerce from Monash University.
Alex is also a CFA Charterholder.
Cameron Squadrito joined Pendal’s Income & Fixed Interest team as an assistant portfolio manager in March 2026.
Cameron has worked closely with the Pendal team for more than five years, most recently as a senior dealer and brings with him extensive markets experience.
Cameron’s role includes supporting the team in enhancing the models, indicators and frameworks that inform our active investment decisions, as well as the day-to-day management of the portfolios.
Cameron is a CFA Charterholder and holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney.
