Institutional Business Development Officer

This role is responsible for support of the Business Development and Client Service functions , and will work closely with the Institutional Sales and Client Service teams to retain, manage and grow Pendal’s Institutional Business. Clients include corporate, government and industry superannuation funds as well as non-superannuation clients such as insurance and finance companies, schools, societies, charities, health funds, universities and other institutions.
This role within the Institutional Business team will be required to work across the Institutional Sales, Investment Product and other Pendal teams to effectively optimise client retention, cross sell opportunities and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support to the Business Development team including research across various market segments, preparation of briefing notes, responding to client queries and collating relevant response materials.
- Development and updating of market mapping across all Institutional sales channels.
- Preparation and maintenance of Client and Prospect Account Plans, working collaboratively with Relationship Management on engagement plan.
- General reporting and analysis of both internal and external clients.
- Attend meetings as appropriate and take responsibility for follow up actions.
- Maintain relevant databases and contact lists in Salesforce.
- Monitor Institutional calendar ensuring that briefing notes and presentation materials appropriate for meetings are produced ahead of time.
- Deliver professional, timely and efficient client service, communications and reporting that meets our client’s needs and delivers a great client experience.
- Be the “voice of the client” by interpreting the client’s needs and communicate these within Pendal.
- Portfolio Review meeting coordination, preparation and attendance.
- Account and relationship management of Pendal’s key institutional clients.
- Working with Investment Product specialists and the Institutional Sales team to identify and convert client cross-sell business opportunities.
- Share industry intelligence and client market feedback amongst the business in order to better focus relationship and sales efforts.
Qualifications, skills and attributes:
- University degree in a related area, preferably graduate qualifications in Commerce, Economics or Finance.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
