Research Analyst, Investment Products

Sydney, Australia | Permanent, Full-Time

The objective of the role is to assist the Investment Solutions & Oversight team with the management, collation and production of a broad range of reports and investment analyses that supports Pendal’s distribution efforts and senior management’s oversight of Pendal’s investment capabilities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering accurate and timely information to Research Houses and Asset Consultants and managing the research reporting timetable
  • Writing market and portfolio commentary
  • Conducting portfolio and investment analyses and research projects
  • Assisting Portfolio Specialists and Investment team employees with the production of Requests For Proposals (RFPs) and other pitch material
  • Managing the sales related data and information requests in liaison with the Client Services Team
  • Producing ad hoc, bespoke and standard competitor analyses and other technical sales support material using the Morningstar Direct System, Factset and internal systems
  • Assisting Portfolio Specialists to provide regular stock and portfolio information updates to the broader Sales Team
  • Maintaining and writing Financial Services Council (FSC) Fund documentation
  • Maintaining and producing stock templates and sales tools as required
  • Contributing Research information to Pendal’s Client Relationship Management (CRM) database and website
  • Interacting (both field and phone based) with key internal and external stakeholders

 

Qualifications, skills and attributes:

  • Completed or studying Finance or investment related degree
  • Postgraduate qualifications, or studying for Qualifications in Finance related area
  • Good working knowledge and understanding of the Investment Management industry
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to articulate thorough working knowledge of financial markets
  • Strong Microsoft Excel/VBA skills
  • Ability to distill complex messages into saleable concepts
  • Ability to engage a broad range of stakeholders
  • Well-developed service ethic
  • Sales and relationship focused
